On Sunday
night, May 2, at the 2004 Suncoast Chapter Silver Circle Awards six distinguished
South Florida television personalities were recognized for 25 years of
excellence in television.
Mary Ross
Agosta, who stated her television career at WCIX-TV, independent channel
6 in Miami, producing the award-winning childrens program Duck,
Duck Goose, is the former Mayor of Miami Shores and is now the Director
of Communications for the Archdiocese of Miami.
Clifton Brown,
joined WLBW-TV, Channel 10 in Miami in building maintenance. Shortly,
the station became WPLG-TV and Clifton, by his hard work, rose through
ever more significant job positions: camera operator, floor director and
studio supervisor.
Diana Gonzalez
is a television news reporter with an awesome history: news reporter at
the CBS affiliate in Miami, WTVJ-TV, Medical Reporter and Midday News
Anchor at WPLG-TV, Network Correspondent for CBS News and, most recently,
Heath and Family Reporter for NBC6/WTVJ, Miramar.
Mac MacDonald
is Director of Operations at HBO Latin America. His career began at NBC
in New York in 1970. Soon, he moved to Miami and joined WCIX-TV where
he spent the next 25 years working for seven general managers and five
different owners, including CBS.
Bill Press
was born and raised in South Florida. He began his television career at
age 17 working without pay for WKID-TV, a small independent. Over the
years he gained bigger and better jobs. In 2001 he was named Senior Vice
President of the Telemundo Network.
Daniel Roujansky
has worked at WFOR/CBS4 for more than 25 years. He is a Director, Producer,
Editor, Musician who has been honored with eight regional Emmy nominations
and has won three in addition to awards from other broadcast organizations.
The 2004
Suncoast Chapter Silver Circle Awards were held at the Eden Roc Resort
and Spa on Miami Beach for a banquet audience of 120 South Florida television
professionals and their friends and families.
